Gothic Romance

I love going to D.I. and sorting through old books, and I've always admired the covers of vintage gothic romance novels. I know, it's weird, but the paintings are really well done. So i'm doing a painting for class and wanted to give it that gothicy feel, and I just found a website devoted to scans of old covers. Take a look: http://hauntedhearts.wordpress.com/

It came from the SKETCHBOOK!

Here's an idea that I'm playing with for another class project. We'll see how it pans out...

Choosing the Lesser of Two Evils

Here's a piece I did for my illustration class. It's inspired, like much of my recent art, by Alyssia who is a perfect mixture of innocence and mischievousness. The little girl in the painting would never do anything so terrible, as say, burn the house down, but she may take delight in playing pranks now and then. I included some of the rough sketches and a Norman Rockwell reference i used. Enjoy!

Deep Sea, in Progress

Yes, I'm still working on this one. It's coming along, but It still has a ways to go...

Marital Caricatures

Holy smokes, I went another month without posting a thing! Well, I've been busy in the meantime, but luckily have made time to do some sketches! These are of Me and Lyss, and they're anyone who knows us can see they're pretty accurate depictions (Lyss being the cute one and me being, well... the other one. Except the one of her as a dinosaur, but I just couldn't resist).

Happy New Year!!

Holy smokes, I haven't posted anything for like 2 months! Things've been pretty busy around here with the Holidays and all, but I'm glad to be back. So I just got a new digital tablet and am stoked to start playin' around with it! Here's one of my first attempts, as you can see, I'm gonna need a lot of practice to get past the old window's paint look, but here he is, the Bubblegum Monster!

Oh, and By the way: I saw Where the Wild things Are. I think I liked the trailer better. I mean, it was cool and imaginative and all, I just think I would've liked it better without all the dialogue. Or, maybe without any of the dialogue.
